From Guarding Dorms to Shaping Supply Chains in a Fortune 100 Company

This is how a shift in method can change your life

But first, let me keep your trust because I don’t believe in quick-fix solutions.

So, to clarify…

When I say “method,” I’m referring to the clarity and connections gained. He still had to put in the work.

Don’t read this as:

“OH WOW HE LANDED A FORTUNE 100 JOB OVERNIGHT! WOOOO!”

I think you know by now that’s not my style.

Here’s the TLDR version: He simply started to have more conversations with the right people.

  • He used my outreach templates.

  • He stopped wasting time on endless applications.

  • He invited people to chat, and those conversations started happening.

He had the potential to transition the whole time. All I did was show him a more focused path to his dream job with the right conversations.

The answer he needed to advance his career was already within him. We adjusted his approach, and he started moving forward.

And in a Fortune 100 company, no less. Wild.

Today’s insight is so simple:

Talk.
Talk often.
Talk with purpose.

I hear job seekers say, “Don’t reach out too much – you’ll annoy people.”

If you don’t reach out enough, you’ll annoy your career progress.

And the opportunities already in your network will go to someone else (in fact, you’ll remain stuck in your current role instead of growing).

Let’s look at it from another view:

Have you ever been invited to a conversation that led to something great?

I know I have.

But if there was no invitation = there was no opportunity.

Someone encouraged you to connect, and you did. Simple.

Sometimes, that’s all you need to do with your outreach, your networking, and your “coffee chats.”

Invite someone into your world.

You’re one conversation away from landing your dream job.

Once you realize this, you’ll never stop talking.

Before you go…

I changed the layout for the newsletter as we prep for the upcoming virtual event, if you’re joining us - I’m excited to see you in there 🤝

If not, let me know what you’re working on?

I’d love to hear about it.
