December is a cheat code.
While most people throttle down, talk themselves out of asking for more, and wait for someone else to move the ball… You can win by simply staying in the game.
Here’s what I have in mind for you (it’s not hard):
Momentum in December
Ask for more than you expected. Send the message.
Find the person you put on a pedestal. Ask them questions.
Study the role + company you want. Trust your gut reaction.
I’m working with a few people who (like everyone else) are running into moments where they did everything right, and the process is still moving a bit slower than they expected.
They were thrilled for the roles, had great interviews, but why is the traction slow? Honestly….? Who knows, and I’m not in the business of playing guessing games when it’s something as important as your career.
So, what can we control? Well, let’s look in the mirror.
What did we hear from them in the process?
What do we believe they aren’t seeing?
Why do they need this role?
Hopefully, you can answer these; if you can’t, then the ball is in your court to take a shot at them. Because the next step is to package this up and put it in front of the hiring team.
“Hey - I care about this role, this is what I believe you need, this is how I’ll get it done”
While every other candidate awaits a response, you show up in a different light.
This isn’t bulletproof; it’s the game of being different and taking action.
Questions I asked these folks above:
What did they not ask me that they probably should have?
What problem did they hint at but never say out loud?
Where did their energy spike or drop during the call?
What metric would move if I did my job exceptionally well?
What assumptions am I making about their silence?
What part of my background do THEY think is the differentiator?

Go get out in public. I can’t recommend this enough. Coffee chat, volunteering, or spending time with family. Getting outside in your domain changes available outcomes personally & professionally.

Volunteering at C4 Performance in Austin (GiveJoy)

Before you leave…
(The offer below still stands for December)
If working with a coach isn’t in the budget right now, don’t beat yourself up. Just send me a message.
I’ve been opening spots in my Skool community so people can access all the modules and join the weekly office hours. There are only about 15 active members in there, so the support ends up feeling like 1:1 or 2:1 coaching anyway.
Won’t be this way forever, take it while you can.
Want 1:1 support?

Ps…Roku is helping me out this month, grab yours :)
