Hey there,
This week, I’m sharing a quick reminder for anyone second-guessing their career story, especially in a world obsessed with trends, tools, and tech.
If you’ve ever looked at your experience and thought, “Is this still enough?” - this one’s for you.
Let’s get into it👇
Why Your Experience Still Matters (A lot)
One of the most fulfilling parts of my work is seeing professionals not just change their careers, but change the direction of their family’s future. That’s the real win.
But early in the process, many hit the same wall.
They look at flashy LinkedIn profiles and think, “Mine doesn’t measure up.”
Here’s the truth: it does.
You’ve done the work. You’ve lived the experience. And that still holds value, regardless of whether it’s tied to the latest AI trend or emerging tech.
Right now, companies are struggling with something surprisingly simple: how to communicate like humans. Tools are doing more of the talking. But tools can’t replace trust, empathy, or real connection.
So before you dismiss your own path, remember:
What helped you build trust with people
What made others want to work with you
What you consistently brought to a team
Then take it one step further: show how those things will serve your next team.
And if you can, smile.
People want to work with people who enjoy the work and the life that comes with it.

I filmed a testimonial with one of my favorite clients, Nicole. Crushed it from start to finish in building advocates to leverage her into a senior leadership role!
Reply “advocate breakdown” directly to me and I’ll send it to you.

One question to check in on your effort
Did you do everything you could to win the objective?
A gut check, but needed more often than not. We don’t usually leave it all out the field for the work we set out to do. So next time you come up short, write this on the mirror?
A few ideas…
Who could I have included sooner?
Where didn’t I show up as my best self?
What idea did I hold back on and not let out?
Before you leave…
This is the work I’m currently doing with others.
Dominic
