This "boring" habit is 10x more powerful than applications.
The job search starts when you're willing to send the message to people living the life you want to live. Here's the habit you need to start today...
My goal is for you to show up to LinkedIn and the job search with less pressure than ever before.
Let me dive into a new habit 👇🏼

LinkedIn DMs Are Awkward—Here’s How to Start One Without Sounding Weird
Before I get started, please remember that spacing is everything as you send messages whether it’s on LinkedIn, email, or even your internal Slack channel.
People get lost in too much text; don’t lose your audience.
Honestly, this felt weird for me to start, but it also led to the most sales I’d ever done in my coaching business. Of course, I’m approaching it a bit differently than a job seeker would, but you need to nail the below regardless.
“I help _______ do _______ so they can _______.”
This isn’t final overnight and will change throughout your career, but people need to hear this wherever you show up. LinkedIn, interviews, coffee chats, etc.
Here’s a template for cold outreach that’s worked for job seekers:
{Name} - {how you found them}
{Call out a piece from their profile that hit home with you}. I help {insert who} do {insert what} so they can {insert their goal}.
What are you building towards next?
{If not this question (can modify it), ask something about them}
Excited to see where you go.
- {Your Name}
Don’t take this template and send it to 50 people this week. Dive deep into the people you want to speak with and go after the first sentence in your outreach!
While this may “feel” weird at first, give it a shot.
It’s changed lives and opened more doors than closed.
Questions to Keep the DMs Flowing…
What are you building towards now?
What have you been working on that surprisingly didn’t work?
What content or influence has changed the way you approach work?
Where do you recommend I get started before diving into it all?
Is there anyone that you recommend I connect with?
There’s a game to be played in the LinkedIn DMs. Don’t let your conversations fall flat here, keep asking good questions, following up timely, and implementing the advice that these folks give you.
Ps) Keep sending the message.

A question that gut-checked me —
"What project are you still working on that has already peaked? Is it time to let it go and begin climbing the next mountain?"
Before you leave…
We had our first Conversations > Applications office hours with a few job seekers. We walked through the above process and even sent out messages. This work isn’t easy to do alone!
I teach the exact framework I use to help job seekers attract hiring teams and show up to a career that they enjoy.
Friendly reminder: Just get started today ✌🏼
