The Unbreakable Voice

Welcome to #PrescribedByDx
I told you I was trying something new in my newsletter for job seekers today, take a read below (no more than 4 minutes) and let me know what you think via mobile or direct response here!
Below you’ll find…
An area you are already doing well
One piece of a job search strategy to tweak

An area you are already doing well…
Taking ownership. I’m surprised. I’ve talked with job seekers who haven’t blamed recruiters, networking strategies, or interview processes. They’ve looked in the mirror and asked for feedback instead. They’ve asked hard questions and received real answers to take action on.
When you get to this point, you’re extremely close to winning. I have yet to meet a person who asked for feedback and wasn’t already successful in an area of their life.
Own it, ask how you can fix it, and then get to work.
One piece of a job search strategy to tweak…
Look at each piece of your job search right now and ask what is working vs. what isn’t working.
What pain are you willing to go through to make that piece start working?
We don’t consider this enough. Most of the job search is pure pain at times and we can’t always ignore it. But, could we get comfortable with the pain to find enough momentum to get that piece moving again?
I don’t want to ignore how tough it is out there and I don’t want job seekers to sit in it for too long.
Being curious and asking questions in the mirror does more than we believe.
Bonus: Do you need it to be successful?
An area where you could have fun this week…
Find one content creator that you adore that sits in your field or talks about information that you enjoy.
Leave one comment - it must be thought-provoking to you. Something that burns inside of you that you don’t get the chance to share during your job search or 9-5.
What do you get from this?
Enjoyment on a platform you rarely log into
An attempt at finding more people you “jive” with
Some sort of resolve for this idea to be out there in the world
I’m convinced we spend too much time around people and ideas that we don’t enjoy at the moment. While I think it’s important to understand people you may not see eye-to-eye with, it’s equally as important to enjoy your time here and find people that you connect with.
We are human, after all.
Question to reflect on…
“Where do you need to spend more time as a student but aren’t willing to admit it?”
TL;DR
There is no one coming to save you
Ownership wins more often than not
Understand the amount of pain it may take
You only need a couple of voices to change your day
3. #PrescribedByDx
I want to change this section up. In past editions, it was what I was up to personally and professionally. It was fun but I’m not sure anyone cared and I don’t think it pushed people to stop, think, or take action.
Moving forward this portion of the newsletter may fulfill a few different needs for the reader; a change in the marketplace, a lie you’ve been told, or a thought process you may have not considered.
For this week, a few roles I found interesting
3 roles I found interesting…
Agile Coach @ Consumer Cellular
These are awesome roles and I think you grow so much from learning how to coach properly. This hits close to home, I do think the base salary is low for the amount of experience they require so definitely something to discuss.
Technology Executive Sales Associate (Healthcare) @ X by 2
Boutique consulting firm with a cool specialty, I’ve always been a big fan of transformation work and for the sales professionals out there (aren’t we all to an extent?) this is pretty sweet. I’d love to know more about 10 years of professional experience for $110k starting salary, worth discussing once again.
Operational Project Coordinator @ DesignIt
Remote and temporary role through July 2024, could be a cool quick opportunity to try something new if you have a solid project management foundation to work off of.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this far! Have a day and respond here if you have any questions!
