My favorite question to ask this year, “What game am I playing?” applies to almost every area of life. There are endless questions that support this, but it’s worth checking in on every so often.

Here are my thoughts on it 👇🏼

The Game You Don’t Have to Finish

If you’re reading this, you care enough about your career to subscribe to a professional development newsletter, or you need it because you’re in the search.

We’ve all had roles we loved, where the game felt worth playing.

It enabled us to play a “game” and build skills.

We probably made money, enjoyed life, and smiled.

But how often do we check in on the “game”?

• Do I know where it ends?

• Do I want to play this for the rest of my life?

• Do I enjoy showing up to this right now?

It feels selfish to ask these questions. But no one’s going to ask them for you.

When I asked myself those questions, the answer was clear: I needed to change the game.

And that’s what drove me here, to go play my own game in business.

• To serve as many job seekers as possible.

• To build knowledge on coaching people.

• To create relationships with real people.

So, if you haven’t asked this question in a while - try it out. I’ve had amazing mentors and coaches, not one has asked me this.

Now I’ll ask you: are you playing the game you actually want to finish?
