Hiring teams don’t buy experience, they buy this...

There’s a game to be played with the hiring team. Make no mistake, will you be remembered or put in the same pile as everyone else?

Let’s help you become the clear choice👇🏼

From Candidate to Clear Choice

I heard this from a job seeker this week when I asked what the most difficult part of their approach was right now.

“Building the story if I had to choose one. I think it is difficult in this market to communicate your unique story, especially the way resumes and applications are screened these days.”

I don’t blame them.

The problem is clear: if the hiring team doesn’t understand your story, you leave the door wide open for another candidate.

How do you understand what the hiring team wants?

That’s when you hear:

The last-minute switch to another candidate.

The “oh, I just don’t think we’re aligned internally”

“But they’ve had experience doing X”

Hard truth? It’s rarely about experience; it’s more about whether your story “clicks”

📹 I recorded a short video breaking down how I’d build and deliver a story the hiring team can’t miss.

Ps… you’ll have to answer these questions on your own.

Questions I’d ask to pull on the hiring team

  1. If nothing changes in this area over the next 6-12 months, what does that cost the business?

  2. You mentioned [X responsibility]. Out of everything on the job description, what’s the non-negotiable that needs impact first?

  3. What’s the biggest shift you’d like this role to drive for your team or business?

Ask these earlier in the process - use them later to win over senior leaders 🤝
