3 standards to 50% salary increases

🌤️ For your Sunday scroll, because Monday’s coming.

Big roles. Bigger doubt.
Here’s how my clients kept showing up even before they believed they were ready.

Time for the shift 👇🏼

You Might Not Believe You’re Worth It Yet. That’s Okay.

A couple of folks I’m working with are in late-stage interviews right now for roles that would pay them 50% more than what they’re currently making.

That kind of leap brings a lot to the surface.

And here’s the truth:

None of them fully believed they were worth that salary…
Not at the start.
Not even after 15+ years of experience.
Not until they hit round two.

What I’ve learned watching them work is this:

1. Momentum > Perfection

They’ve kept the ball rolling for 1–2 months straight.
No disappearing for two weeks.
No “I’ll get to it eventually” mindset.
They kept showing up, reaching out, refining their pitch, doing the unglamorous work.

2. Confidence Doesn’t Lead…It Follows

They didn’t feel “ready.”
They didn’t wake up thinking, “Yep, I’m worth a 6-figure raise.”
But the more they engaged with real people, the more belief started to take root.
Confidence grew through conversations, not isolation.

3. The Foundation Still Matters Most

As they moved into later rounds, we had to ask:
What stories are on your “achievement altar”? (s/o Kyle Thomas)
Could you build a live solution in front of the team and explain it with clarity?
Because when the moment comes, you don’t rise to the occasion…
You fall back on preparation.

They haven’t landed the offer yet.

But I’ve believed in them since day one.
Sometimes they just needed to borrow that belief long enough to keep moving.

And that’s okay.

The win is in the work.

3 questions to make you’re next chat more human:

  1. What part of your work makes you feel most proud?

  2. Who are you working with when you feel on “fire”?

  3. If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be?

I was listening to an awesome podcast where three (3) questions were asked, which are the “most important” when you’re building your life:

  • What are you doing/building?

  • Where do you live?

  • Who do you do it with?

I’ve had different seasons for all of these questions, and they feel good asking if you’re in a rut. A caveat on these - is the decision I’m going to make reversible?

Before you leave…

This is the work I’m currently doing with others.
